Three Avenues Bookshop is thrilled to be hosting a Zine Workshop Series by Keisa Reynolds!
Join us this spring and summer for a monthly zine making workshop, where Keisa will lead us through zine history and creation. Each month features a different theme – see below! All workshops are free / Pay What You Can, and all donation amounts collected will be directed to Keisa Reynolds (minus Eventbrite fees). For May, proceeds will be donated to two organizations: Sista Afya Community Care and Affinity Community Services.
April Zine Workshop
Date: Sunday, 4/19 @ 3:30 - 5 pm
Theme: Non-Binary Parents' Day
About: This family event is open to everyone, of course, with a focus on non-binary, gender non-conforming, trans, queer families. The workshop will focus on making mini zines about our families. Participants will have the chance to create mini instant photos via on-site photo shoots, using Keisa's shared cameras and instant film.

Keisa Reynolds
About: Keisa will share their own anxiety zine series and share how to create zines for mental health. Participants are encouraged to create mini zines primarily using collage, drawing, writing.Keisa Reynolds, also known as K. and Sula Found, is a writer, performer, and community educator from Richmond, California. A teaching artist since age 14, Keisa believes that art and storytelling allows us to explore challenging topics, build self-compassion and deepen how we relate to others — all of which moves us closer to liberation. Most recently, Keisa wrote about their journey into non-binary parenthood for the anthology We Grow the World Together: Parenting Toward Abolition. Their creative writing and photography have been featured in collaborative zines since 2009. One of the last users on Livejournal, Keisa’s writing echoes the ethos of the online diary era, offering an homage to giving our past selves some grace. Learn more about Keisa at kfromdabay.com.
