Every book in our store, more than 70,000 of them, is 50% off from August 28 until September 12. Proceeds from this sale event goes to book access and literacy programs for children across Chicago.
Browse thousands of books and take your new favorites home, while helping Open Books transform lives through the unlimited power of books!

Open Books West Loop at 651 W. Lake Street is open Wednesday-Thursday at 12pm-6pm and Friday-Sunday at 10:30am-6pm.

Chicago’s first non-profit bookstore has expanded! Open Books has brought their expansive and always-changing selection of over 60,000 used and new books to Milwaukee Ave. All of our proceeds go to our literacy programs and free book giveaways to historically under-resourced communities in Chicago.
