Sally Cissna
Sally Cissna was born in Woodstock, Illinois, but it wasn't until she began researching her roots that she came to understand how strongly she felt about the city and her connections to it. Her grandparents, John and Ida Wienke, left an imprint on Woodstock that Cissna has discovered through research into The Woodstock Sentinel, old family letters, and stories from her childhood. Sally has used the Woodstock Public Library collections along with online sources and her own stockpile to piece together the story as the Wienkes participate in growing of the village of Woodstock.

Celebrating the Release of the Memory of Borrowed Books with Author Meg Anderson
Debut author Meg Anderson joins Read Between The Lynes to talk about THE MEMORY OF BORROWED BOOKS, a love letter to books and libraries that explores memory, trauma, and the hidden rooms we build to survive. Inspired in part by Meg's experience living with MS and navigating depression and anxiety, the novel examines the invisible battles so many of us carry and the ways our memories, both cherished and painful, shape who we become. This is an event that includes a talk, Q&A, and book signing. Buy a copy of The Memory of Borrowed Books from Read Between The Lynes and your ticket is free! You can choose a hardcover or paperback. If you would like to attend the event without purchasing a book, the cost will be $5. A portion of sales will be donated to Friends of the Woodstock Library. Buy tickets and find details here.
